I'm so tired of winning
by Josh Long
I'm so tired of all this winning.
- 100,000 people dead from COVID19. (Trump was golfing). There's always a tweet: in 2014, he politicized the Ebola pandemic and insisted that President Obama should resign for golfing. Two Americans died in America during that crisis.
- We saw the GDP shrink 5% in Q1. We don't know the numbers for Q2. I'm not sure I want to... There are 21 million ongoing
- There have now been a total of 41 million unemployed, and a little less than 21 million continuing unemployed.
- Trump's harassing states for supporting mail-in ballots. Senator Kamala Harris (D.) had to remind Trump that it's a crime to threaten to withold funding to the state to interfere with elections. Republican Senator Mitt Romney responded that 90% of (He and his press secretary, among others, all use mail-in ballots). Even Texans want (and now can have) mail-in voting
- We had the first terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11.
- Trump is threatening social media companies (but this will of course also really screw conservative sites like Breitbart.com). He just signed an executive order to start the ball rolling for the government to harass social media platforms.
- Trump's trying to rollback even more environmental regulations. (And states are fighting back)
- Trump is demanding that houses of worship be allowed to open up again
- Trump is threatening states who insist that their citizens shelter-at-home and avoid the plague
- The militarized police complex are caught, yet again, with their knees on the necks of the downtrodden. Trump has expressed evil thoughts about Colin Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter. This is his unique flavor of bigotry.
- Trump insulted Columbia university for being the messenger that if the US had shutdown a little earlier, many lives would've been saved.
All of this was in the last ten days or so! And I know I've missed a zillion other things, too.
So, let's please ask this November as we amble up to the voting box: are we better off than we were in 2016?
